Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.
Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . . .

Excerpted from THE BACHELOR AUCTION by Rachel Van Dyken

Jane.” It was a whisper, it was a question, and then his mouth was on hers—harsh, forceful, but so inviting she whimpered at the contact and leaned into him, begging him with her body to take what she couldn’t voice aloud.
It was a bad idea.
He was a bad idea.
Taken.
Ready to be married off.
But here, in this moment, he was hers.
So she kissed him back with as much passion as she possessed, her hands digging into the front of his shirt while his teeth nipped at her bottom lip.
His hands slid beneath her shirt, unhooking her bra with ease as he nudged her thighs apart.
You feel so soft,” he murmured against her mouth. “Perfect.” Another plundering kiss, his tongue flicking hers before his lips slid down her neck. “So damn good.”
With a moan, she pressed as close as she could against him, nearly riding his leg in an effort to get more of him.
That’s it,” he encouraged while she clawed at him.
Brock!” Bentley’s voice pierced the air. “Did you need help?”
Brock froze above her, his face filled with irritation. “Open that door, Bentley, and I’m selling every car you own and replacing it with a Honda!”
Silence.
You don’t mean it.” The knob turned.
Jane’s eyes widened in alarm as Brock quickly moved away from her and tossed the blanket…over her head. Right, like that was going to look normal. She pulled the blanket off her face and tried in vain to fix her bra while frantically pulling her hair back into a ponytail.
Bentley entered, took one look at both of them and smiled. “Clearly this room was dirtier than we thought?” He tilted his head at Jane. “Or maybe not dirty enough?”
Out!” Brock barked.
But—”
Go!”
Fine,” Bentley grumbled. “I’m leaving. I just thought you should know that Grandfather called and wanted to know how the maid was working out. I told him that you’ve been helping her since she sprained her ankle. He was concerned about her finishing the job.”
What did you say?” Brock grabbed Bentley by the shirt and gave a little shake.
Bentley held up his hands. “Chill. I told him that she would make a full recovery, that she refused to sue, and that you were taking care of the situation. Because that’s all you’re doing, right Brock? Taking care of the situation…” He peered around Brock at Jane.
Feeling suddenly more naked than she actually was, she covered herself up with the blanket.
What had she been thinking?
It was beyond unprofessional.
Tears burned the backs of her eyes.
Thanks, Bent.” Brock sighed, running his hands through his already mussed hair.
Bentley saluted him then added quietly. “For the record, any girl that can get Boring Brock to bend the rules is a keeper.”
Brock bit back a curse as Bentley shut the door.
Boring Brock?” Jane asked.
It’s about as bad as it sounds.”
Well, I’m Plain Jane, so…I understand.”
He turned. “You’ve never been plain a day in your life.”
I think you’ve already learned that you don’t need to give me pretty compliments to get me to kiss you.”
You have seven freckles. You press your lips together to keep yourself from saying things you shouldn’t. You hum when you clean, and though I’m not sure what the tune is, it’s familiar. When you eat, you watch people rather than your own food, and I’m just going to come out and say it: you eat like an animal, the most erotic thing I’ve ever seen.”
Jane covered her face with her hands. “It was flattering until you said that last part.”
Brock laughed. “Seeing a woman dig into her food like she hasn’t eaten in weeks? It’s one of the most erotic visions I’ve ever had.”
Emotion flashed across his face as he made his way over to her and kissed her again, pulling away with her name on his lips. “Jane, I want you.”
Thought I was just the help.” The walls around her heart started to slip; she felt it in the way her body rose against him. He’d noticed things about her nobody ever had, he was helping her, and he was beautiful. Was it so wrong to want this? For herself? Once in her life?
You’re more than that, and you know it.” His eyes locked on to hers as his deep voice washed over her.
You’re getting auctioned off in two weeks and you know it.”
He paused, his expression going completely ice cold before he looked away and then back at her. “And if I wasn’t? What then?”
Then…” She bit down on her bottom lip. “I’d ask you to kiss me again.”

From the New York Times bestselling author of Suddenly Royal comes the first in a sparkling new series about America’s favorite royal—the First Daughter.

Everyone makes mistakes, especially in college. But when you’re the daughter of the President of the United States, any little slip up is a huge embarrassment. Maddie McGuire’s latest error in judgment lands her in police custody, giving the press a field day. EXCERPT

Have you been crying?” Warm fingers touched my cheek and I jerked in surprise at the sparks that danced through my blood. I couldn’t remember if he had ever touched me except for obligatory dances at celebrations and fund- raisers. “What happened? Are you okay?”
No, I’m fine.” I stepped out of his reach and rubbed under my eyes. Tearing my gaze from his I leaned over and picked up his cane. “It’s allergies.”
We’ve known each other too long for you to lie to me.” He let his hand fall back to his side. I handed him the cane and stepped back. “Someone told you that I was on my way, huh? We all know how much you hate me. I’m surprised you didn’t jump out of the window.”
It was an option.” I rolled my eyes. I guess I wasn’t the only one that remembered our last meeting hadn’t been pleasant. “I also considered hiding in the closet, but was too slow.”
There! Take that, perfect Jake Simmon. I was quick on my feet today.
So, you know why I’m here.” The way his eyes ran over me as if taking stock was obnoxious.
I’m your body guard. When the crazy women start running after you, I’m to dive in the way.” And damn if they wouldn’t come running when they saw how he looked all grown up and rough around the edges.
I’m glad they have a plan.” He scratched his chin. “Getting bombarded with underwear and bras is a health issue.”
If they got to know you, it wouldn’t be a problem.” I rolled my eyes.
What does that mean?” His head cocked to the side.
I thought you lost your leg, not your brain.” My eyes widened, but it was too late to take it back. Why was it that I said the most horrible things around him? Even when we’d been younger I’d had diarrhea of the mouth. Especially around Jake.
He threw his head back and laughed. “I don’t think they’re after my brain, Maddie. Thankfully the part they’re most interested in is still fully functional.”
His lazy smile and sparkling eyes had me swallowing hard.
Heat crept up my neck and I fought to not look away. “Well, good for you.”

5 stars(!!!) I've got the FEELS read.

Review:

I will start by saying that ever since Nichole Chase announced Bedmates it was one of my most anticipated reads of 2016.

I mean, who can say know to an enemy to friends to lovers romance?
the answer is NO ONE.

And one written by Nichole Chase?
Well, you'll have to be crazy to decide not to read it.

Then, I learned it was about the first daughter and as sad as I am to admit, doubts started to creep in.
I love politics and intrigue....but I wasn't so sure that I was up for some likeable characters.

Then a chance presented itself for a review copy and being a Nichole Chase fan of course I jumped at the opportunity.

in a warm cozy chair I snuggled and sat down to read my ARC, pretty soon I realized Jake was an army veteran missing a leg (not to talk about the psychological damage he suffered during his employment in Afghanistan).

I should not have worried at all, because as Nichole has proven many times over she writes great, likeable, reasonable, sweet, relateable characters that are just too human.

Nichole gave us an interesting ride feeled with funny moments, sad moments, heartwarming moments, strong characters, real issues, the light we can find in our darkest moments and the meaning of standing up for what you believe in and standing next to the people that mean most to you.

What I'm trying to say is that Nichole proved once again why she is such a great author expressing human emotions, dynamics and moments (family, friends. lovers, enemies....everything).

For me this was a five stars amazing read. and I'm happy for the opportuninty to read it and can't wait to see what Nichole will write next.

Simply put, I'n in love with Maddie and Jake (Maddie was awesome and great and Jake was truly drool worthy), not to mention the easter egg of the Duchess and Prince of Liliria(!!! can you believe it??).

I recieved an ARC by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Sharon.

Book Information

Title: Meant For You
Author: Samantha Chase
Release Date: April 7, 2015
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Summary

She dares to dream...

Summer Montgomery wants to be taken seriously almost as much as she wants her brother's best friend, Ethan. But with a long resume of seemingly random career choices and a protective brother on watch, those things are nothing more than pipe dreams...

Does he dare to try?

Ethan Reed would like nothing more than to live by his own rules. Not wanting to disappoint his best friend Zach, or any of the Montgomerys, Ethan's had to push his long-denied feelings for Summer aside. But it only takes one night away from watchful eyes to make impossible dreams come true...

Excerpt

“This trail is a little bit boring, don’t you think?” Summer asked several hours later as they made their way down a marked path.

“I hadn’t really thought of it that way. There’s so much to see—different kinds of birds and plants… The weather is just fantastic—perfect for hiking.” He reached out and took one of Summer’s hands in his. “And the company is perfect.”

“Aw, aren’t you sweet,” she cooed and pulled him close for a kiss and sighed. “It is a beautiful day and everything is really pretty to look at… I was just hoping to see a little something more.”

“More? Like what?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Deer. Bears. A moose. You know, wildlife.”

Beside her, Ethan chuckled. “Summer, trust me when I say that you do not want to have an up-close encounter with any of those animals.”

“I just was expecting something a little more exciting. The only wildlife I have seen is a squirrel. And he wasn’t even doing anything entertaining.”

“What were you expecting? For it to be juggling or something?” he teased.

“No,” she said with a pout. “Maybe. I don’t know.”

Ethan pulled Summer into his embrace and took a moment to enjoy the feel of her in his arms. “What’s going on?” he asked softly.

“I don’t know… I feel like you’re always off doing these really cool, crazy things and that this seems a little tame for you.” She shrugged. “I’m not big on dangerous stuff, but I wanted us to have our own little adventure. Just the two of us.”

“Sweetheart, we’ve been having our own adventures for days,” he said and placed a kiss on the top of her head. “I don’t need an adventure. I just want to spend time with you.”

Summer looked up at him and smiled. “Really?”

He nodded. “Absolutely. I’m thankful that we have this time, without any prying eyes, just to get to know one another.”

“Ethan, we’ve known each other for years,” she said with a chuckle.

He shook his head. “No. The Summer Montgomery I knew was a girl. When you showed up at the office for the first time? I thought I was going to have a heart attack.”

“Really?” she purred and snuggled closer. “Do tell.”

“You’ve blossomed into this amazingly beautiful woman,” he said and kissed her temple. “I mean, you were always beautiful, but when you walked into my office that day, it was like you’d transformed. Gone was the young girl I always pictured when I thought of you and in her place was…” He pulled back and looked into her face. “You.” He sighed. “I look at you sometimes and it’s like I can’t breathe. And even standing here right now with you in my arms I can’t believe it’s real.”

“I feel that way, too,” she said quietly. “I’d had a crush on you for so long and you never noticed me and…”

“Wait, wait, wait… You had a crush on me?”

She rolled her eyes. “Oh come on, Ethan. You can’t tell me you didn’t know!” she said with a laugh. “Everyone knew! Hell, my brothers used to throw things at me to stop me from staring at you!”

Ethan stopped and thought about that for a moment and then started to laugh. “Seriously? That’s what that was about?”

“What?”

“I remember your brothers always throwing stuff at you…popcorn, socks… I think I remember James throwing a basketball at you once and I thought it was odd.”

“They told me I was being a nuisance.”

Shaking his head, Ethan continued to laugh. “Not to me, because clearly I didn’t even notice.”

“Thanks a lot!” she cried and went to pull away, but Ethan pulled her in close.

“Don’t take it like that,” he said and wrapped his arms around her. “I just meant that I never knew. I always thought you were beautiful and sometimes I had to wonder if your brothers ever caught me staring at you.”

“I don’t know. Did they ever throw anything at your face for no reason?” she asked with a smirk.

“Not that I can remember. But it doesn’t matter. All I know is that you’re here now and I’m seeing you, Summer. Really seeing you.”

Her eyes went wide at his words and the sincerity behind them. “What do you see?”

“I see a woman I want to get to know better. A woman who is sexy and intelligent and just…everything.”

Author Biography

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.

When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.

Ask Estelle Maskame:
What inspired you to write this story and what is the scene you had most fun writing?
At the time I was really into YA novels where the two main characters couldn't be together, but the reason why was usually rather easy to overcome. I wanted to write my own YA forbidden romance, and that's when I got the idea of stepsiblings falling in love, and I wanted to write and explore the issues that are raised from this type of relationship. I absolutely loved writing the scene up at the Hollywood Sign!

Praise for Did I Mention I Love You?

“Readers will root for them, like they would with Edward and Bella—the mutual attraction and need for one another is palpable. It rings of passion, excitement, and first love.” –VOYA Magazine

“An edgy young adult romance with dark layers” –The Examiner

“A believable coming-of-age story and an unconventional romance, set against a present-day California summer... . The fallout of divorce, the insidiousness of substance abuse and family secrets, and especially the pangs of first love drive this emotionally resonant tale.” – Publishers Weekly

“Written in first person, Maskame’s trilogy opener is an excellent portrayal of a teenage girl’s life in the 21st century. Eden has to adjust to her blended family, try to feel pretty, be body conscious, and make friends, all while falling in love for the first time. She is someone all young people can relate to...Romance fans will be captivated by Eden and her journey to finding herself and true love.” –School Library Journal

Did I Mention I Love You? Excerpt

I can almost see the road through the gaps in the fence by the side of the house, and I squint through. There’s music playing. More like blaring. I can hear it over the crappy music that’s already bouncing around the back yard, and as a sleek white car speeds up to the edge of the sidewalk and skids against the curb, I grimace in disgust. The music cuts off the second the engine is killed.

“What are you looking at?” Rachael asks, but I’m too busy staring to even attempt to answer.
The car door swings open roughly, and I’m surprised it doesn’t fall straight off its hinges. It’s difficult to see clearly through the fence, but a tall guy gets out and slams the door shut just as aggressively as he opened it. He hesitates for a moment, stares at the house, and then runs a hand through his hair. Whoever he is, he looks su-per depressed. Like he’s just lost all his life savings or his dog just died. And then he heads straight for the gate.

“Who the hell is this jackass?” I mutter to Rachael as the figure nears us.

But before either of us can say anything more, Jackass decides to hit the gate open with a fist, drawing the at-tention of everyone around us. It’s like he wants everyone to hate him. I figure he’s probably that one neighbor that everyone despises, and he’s only here in a fit of rage because he wasn’t invited to the lamest barbecue get-together that’s ever been hosted.

“Sorry I’m late,” Jackass comments sarcastically. And loudly too, with a smirk on his lips. His eyes flash green as emeralds. “Did I miss anything besides the slaughtering of animals?” He throws up the infamous mid-dle finger to, from what I can see, the barbecue. “I hope you guys enjoyed the cow you just ate.” And then he laughs. He laughs as though everyone’s expressions of disgust are the most entertaining thing he’s seen all year.

“More beer?” I hear my dad call out to the silent crowd, and as they chuckle and return to their conversations, Jackass heads through the patio doors. He slams them shut so hard I can almost see the glass tremble.

I’m stunned. I have no idea what just happened or who that was or why he’s just entered the house. When I realize I’m slightly slack-jawed, I close my mouth and turn to Rachael.
She bites her lip and pushes her sunglasses down over her eyes. “I’m guessing you haven’t met your step-brother yet.”
