Mini Reviews and Giveaway

The Redemption of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen (book 2 in The Coincidence series)

4 stars

In the coincidence of Callie and Kayden I experienced something more than deep pain and the power of trust. I experienced love, true and strong love. It was a book about a blooming love and a new beginning.....in the Redemption of Callie and Kayden I experienced the exact opposite. Pain, fear and heartbreaking. The book felt like an emotional roller coaster in Six Flags (ever heard of Goliath...yeah you got it).The book is solely dedicated on Kayden's oint of view, how he decided to cope with what happened in the first book and how he decided that help and support was needed in order to do what he had too. The Redemption of Callie and Kayden is all about strength and how to find it. Facing your fears and comforting your demons and past. The characters themselves were amazing and although the plot had a few pitfalls I loved loved loved the book more than anything.

Twisted Together by Pepper Winters (book 3 in Monsters in the Dark series)

4.5 stars

I wont say anything about this book because it will ruin everything. The review will be a spoiler itself but for those of you who read the first two installments and still trying to decide whether or not to read the first one just grab it and devour it as slowly as you can. Like every good thing these series come to an end too. It was the most heartbreaking, sad, agony filled book I ever read. Sometimes I could not believe what I was reading others I was appalled by horror and found myself appraising the author for the greatness she created. The Accidental Reader is hosting a giveaway with the eARC of the first installement of the series.

The Possibility Of Us by Lisa Burnstein

3 stars.

I received this book as an ARC from Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in exchange of an honest review.

I really dont have a lot to say about this book, only that I saw it coming from page one. The characters were really really good and I felt their pain and yearn throughout the book but what didn;t really work for me was the cliché plot. I tried really hard to love the book but it;s just not for me.

The Accidental Reader is giving away 1 eARC copy of Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters.Read Review Here.

Review:

Okay, this may sound crazy but i liked this book more than the first one and thats rarely a case with me. It seemed more mature and more serious that the first and i think that in this one you get to see the actual relationship between Christian and Anna.

Although, you will notice the repetitive and often annoying inner goddess and the constantly exlamation of Holy Shit, Holy Crap and all tones of crap and holyness, you will also notice how different the sequel of the series is.

I liked that you get an insight of Christians fears and demons and how he actually tries to work things out with Anna, he is not a heartless bastard after all. I dont have a lot to add on this one due to the fact that it is an erotica book...but what i want to say is this: Fifty Shades Darker is not BDSM and Disturbing, actually i dont even know how it got this label. I think its just a little more extreme erotica than usual. Anna is such a chicken so she doesnt try out anything and that is lame.

That's all that i have to add on this book.

Publisher: Entangled
Series: Lux
Pages: 364
Rating: 4.5 stars

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

Review:

One thing that Jennifer Armentrout is for sure is a book thief...and I don;t mean Markus Zusak's book thief. All of the series are pretty similar with Twilight and all the cliche love stories but one good thing the author of the Lux series does is to create amazing characters.

This installation of the book is much much more adventurous and nerve racking. The characters are so good developed that you even feel for the second protagonists of the book that they don't play big roles. I think that the story wouldn't be that successful without them.

A lot of scenes are predictable and you also see a lot of situations coming which doesn't leave much anticipation to the reader unfortunately but what I liked is how well the action-Part of the book was written. You could actually feel the fear and ''see'' the whole battle scene which for me was amazing. Not a lot of authors can do that. Fear blends with terror and for a brief second affection between the main characters which takes the plot to a whole different level.

So the book had it's flaws and also the goods but I love and hate how it ended. It just leaves you there hanging until the release of the last installation of the series and that makes me want to cry. I don't know what else to say without spoiling it to you so im gonna leave it here and hope you enjoy the book!!

Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout (book review by Eleni)

Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: December 11th 2012
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Series: Lux
Pages: 382
Rating: 4.5 stars
Buy on: Amazon ,Barnes and Noble

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Review:

This book made me pull my hair so hard it actually hurt. I don;t know what the author was thinking.
There is so much action in this one than on the first two books of the series and seriously I liked that a lot..also the fact that we actually we get some action from Daemon and Katy helped on finishing Opal faster haha.

I hated that Dee and Katy had a silent fallout and the missing parent thing really started to grow on me. I mean okay we know Katy's mother is working but she can't be absent from the house for days and having her 18 year old daughter running around with a bunch of aliens - no mother would allow that.

I hated Blake more that anything in this one too. I started to like the guy at the second book but he fucked everything up during the end and in this one is no different. First he does the unforgivable to Katy and then he does the ultimate sin - im not gonna say.

Daemon is the only one that doesn't annoy me. He is so so so cute and adorable the whole time that I really wanna kiss him. And YES the book is emotional ,the reader will go through a bunch of emotional roller coasters with this one that he will need more.

I really don't know what more to say without spoiling the whole thing so I'm just gonna leave it here.
