After thirty years of marriage, Wilson Lewis, son-in-law of Allie and Noah Calhoun (of The Notebook), is forced to admit that the romance has gone out of his marriage. Despite the shining example of Allie and Noah's marriage, Wilson is himself a man unable to easily express his emotions. Wilson is sure of one thing--his love for his wife has only deepened and intensified over the years. Now, with the memories of his in-laws' magnificent fifty-year love affair as his guide, Wilson struggles to find his way back into the heart of the woman he adores.

Review:

This book is supposed to be the follow up of the smashing bestselling book The Notebook. To me, not even close. To me this book was a huge let down and a huge failure.Okay, I have to say that I was warned by the reviews of other readers but i did not expect it to be so bad.

Let's start with Wilson the simple husband who thinks he is wrong because his wife grew up with the idea of the ''ideal romance'' in her head and expects him to be the same way her parents Noah and Allie (The Notebook) were...well let me spell it out for you sugar : Not everyones the same way.

I felt like the book was dragging on and on and on with no end. I did not get why we had to read about Wilson and his wife and the wedding of their daughter and the preparation of the wedding...the strokes and heart attacks Noah had and all that s***. The ending was not clear enough for me to understand that yeah, you know what?, every couple goes through a crisis in his life and the point in everything is to understand and try your best everyday. I would never understand that if i never read other books like this..but better.

The whole book is over the top with a main character who tries to please his wife as best as he can and in the end he fails because, simply, his wife is blind and stupid. Anyways, there are people out there that will probably will like this without purpose book but simply its not for me.

So, if you read the Notebook and want something similar to read dont even think of this book. Its exactly the opposite of the love story of Noah and Allie. Try something else like P.S. I Love You or Twenty Boy Summer or ONE DAY.

Review:

What the Hell was I thinking? I spend like 2 days of my entire life just to read this book -which by the way I didn't finish- for like 100 and something pages. I regret everything.

I wasn't expecting much from this book , it reminded me of the Hush Hush trilogy which by the way is awesome ,so I picked it up and started reading it. The first thing that actually hit me were the dialogues.
To me they seemed really really forced and unnatural and sooooooooooooooo freaking cliche. The characters themselves did not have a solid background and I could not ''bond'' with them the way I or any other reader should. They show emotions so superficial that made me wonder if they just pretend to be depressed , in love or whatever.

Let's go over to the aspect of romance...where it is none! When Taylor meets Gabriel you will expect some romance. Instead Gabriel reveals some shit to her and she plays it off cool and thats it..they move on with their ''romance''. Even Bella reacted with the fact that Edward was a fucking vampire and the fact that she was irrevocably and irresistibly in love with him -and Twilight was romance. In this book what you get is a ''TWO MONTHS LATER'' title and that's it. Basically I thought the author was bored enough to just get into the art of writing and developing a solid relationship between the main heroes of the book.

Apart from that the whole story with Angels and Demons and Gods etc was pretty interesting and it would be more if the writing was a little bit better. Thus the one star.

The Shadowhunter's Codex by Cassandra Clare Book Review by Eleni

Author: Cassandra Clare
Release Date: October 29th 2013
Publisher: McElderly Books
Pages: 288
Rating: 2 stars
Buy at: Barnes and Noble, Amazon

Delve into the details of all things Shadowhunter with this illustrated guide to the knowledge and lore of the Shadowhunter world.

Since the thirteenth century, the Shadowhunter’s Codex has been the one and only manual for Shadowhunters looking to brush up on their demon languages, learn proper stele use, and discover just what exactly a pyxis is. Featured in both The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices, this guide is a necessity for any young Nephilim on their journey to becoming a Shadowhunter. Beautifully illustrated, the Codex contains images of the famous Shadowhunter homeland of Idris, as well as depictions of demons and other Downworlders.

Review:

Before you condemn me to the depths of Hell for the 2 stars that I gave to the book please let me tell you that I am a huge fan of the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices. So what went wrong with this one? I will tell you.

I hated hated hated the fact that Clare decided to write this book. First of all, there is nothing new in this book expect the funny scribbles of Jace, Clary and Simon on the margins of the page. That made me laugh hence the two stars. Other than that I think the book was destined to be a merchandising trap for MI fans around the world. Clare spend those pages for things we already know and learned through the series. both ID and IM.

I thought the book would be written in a more sophisticated way, it would be more stern and give the impression of something serious but it was exactly the opposite. The writing was not as I expected it to be and that was really bad because it ruined the whole experience with the Sacred Book of the Shadowhunters.

It gave me the feeling that it was written in a haste and that the author was two timing it with something else. I hated it and it left me dissapointed because I was looking forward to it.

So my opinion is dont read this book there is nothing new in there or something that you will need for the last book of the Mortal Instrument Series.

Review:

okay here comes. i am so dissapointed from this book. i was looking forward to it because my boyfriend used to come to my room every night after my parents were asleep but it wasnt so cheesy.
1) The Characters:
while you are reading this book you will have to deal with a bunch of 16 y.o and some 18 y.o. who act like they are five and they only thing that actually cross their minds is sex and how to nail each other by betting (yup and i mean a lot of money). The protagonist is supposed to be suffering from sexual abuse BUT i dont see her dealing with it when her bf is all over her (who by the way only thinks on how to tap her ass...like all the time)
2) The Plot:
i dont know what the hell crossed the writers mind...it seemed like she didnt plan it at all and she was just writing whatever dropped in her stupid mind. its unrealistic and most of the times stupid and you can even connect with the protagonists.
3) The Writing:
those of you that have read it you have noticed...those of you who gonna read it you gonna notice too. the writer is repeating herself over and over again with the words pourring, winking, smirking, groaning etc etc. its like before she started writing she decided to just write down 7 words for expression and thats whats she been using through the entire book. i dont even want to comment on the sentence construction.
4) Sex scenes:
wtf???? like seriously why didnt she published this novel through Harlequin? that book would be perfect under this category. there was so much sex and description that it was seriously disturbing. okay i not say that i was fun of the twilight- no -sex -at- all -to - the-point -that - you -scream-for-it but she could have keep it down a notch and actually show to the reader that Liam and Amber have a deep relationship and they talk about other stuff apart from sex and how to make each other horny.

In a few words read it only if you have nothing to read and you prefer Harlequin romance.
